Lake Casitas Spillway Operations

Post Date:04/04/2024 3:32 PM

As required by the United States Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) Operations Procedures for Casitas Dam and Reservoir, Casitas Municipal Water District has notified the Ventura County Watershed Protection District that the water level of Lake Casitas is within two feet of the spillway crest elevation of 567' above mean sea level (AMSL).  Ventura County is responsible for determining if any action is necessary to prepare for the potential flows in Coyote Creek. Operation of the spillway is an important safety feature and a normal part of the operation of Casitas Dam.
